Pregnancy rashes

Last weekend, my belly was filled with rashes and it got to a point whereby it kinda freaked me out.

So although I already knew the answer because I consulted my gynae before, I still had to go and ask Peter Pan Daddy to surf online to see if these rashes are harmful to Peter Pan Baby because I need constant reassurance like that.

And according to this site online, it's pretty harmless to you and your baby except for the itch. But the weird thing is that my rashes don't itch. They're just there on my tummy like a form of decor -_-

Anyhoo, as we read on, apparently 70% of women who have it give birth to boys and this is due to the hypothesis that the male fetal DNA acts as a skin irritant.

More hair and pregnancy rashes. How fun!

Well, I guess it's better than getting acne all over your face, huh?

*touch wood* I hope I didn't just jinx my face. Ok, I probably just did by saying it out loud typing it out.

More fun stuff! :)

Look what my brother & SIL got Peter Pan Baby:

-- Thomas the Train bib --

-- Pooh set!!!! --

I almost wanted to get this Pooh set at Babyland the other time. Peter Pan Baby's going to be all Pooh-ed out!

I wonder if it'd be too corny accessorising Peter Pan Baby with a Winnie the Pooh anklet from Poh Kong? hehe

My other just-gave-birth-friend passed me these clips:

How cute are they? Though primarily used for lampins, it can be pinned onto Peter Pan Baby's clothes as a fashion statement.

How fashionable would Peter Pan Baby be with his Winnie the Pooh bodysuit, anklet and fashion pin? :)

23 weeks

Am at 60.1kg at the moment.

Approximate calculation below:
1st trimester: 1kg
12 weeks - 22 weeks: 5kg
22 weeks - 23 weeks: 0.1kg

Total weight gain so far: 6.1kg

I don't know why my baby bump still looks so small on photos. My friend suggested that I measure my waist. I haven't gotten down to doing that.

My brown discharge came back last Friday. It lasted through the whole of Saturday so on Saturday nite, I decided to insert the Canesten pill that my gynae gave me from the last check-up which was awfully painful.

The Canesten pill is like the panadol menstrual pill but slightly bigger.

2 days later, I started having pink/bright red discharge *faints*

So on Monday itself, I went to see my gynae and again he had to use the clamper to check down there *double faints*

He told me to monitor the discharge and if the brown discharge/thrush really doesn't bother me, then I don't have to continue with the other 2 Canesten pills as the pink discharge may scare me even more. True 'dat!

We also consulted the gynae for the price of natural birth vs. c-sect at Prince Court Hospital:

Natural birth - RM3.5k (inclusive of 1 night stay)
Plus epidural - RM1k
Plus vacuum - RM600

C-sect - RM8.5k (inclusive of 2 nights stay)

I did ask the gynae whether it's common to go through an episiotomy if we opt for natural birth and he said not really, it only happens in 20% of cases.

But the worst part is that he can only tell me if I need one there and then on the day of birth -_-

Hence,
no conclusion as to which method we'll be choosing yet as we're suppose to wait and see how big Peter Pan Baby will be at the later stage of the pregnancy.

Other than that, Peter Pan Baby's kicks have been getting stronger recently.

He particularly likes to move/roll around at night when I'm about to sleep. I will keep telling him to stop playing but I guess he's having loads of fun in there.

I have begun to feel his nudges/kicks beside my navel. Not too sure if it's getting a little tight in there for him that he needs to rise up to my navel level.

He now weighs 600 grams and according to sites online, he's only suppose to be weighing 500 grams at 23 weeks -_-"

Whatever it is, I hope he's healthy and growing normally.

Nowadays, I can only sleep for 2-3 hours whereby I'll wake up to pee and then take a long time to fall asleep again. So I'm really tired most of the time.

I cannot get enough of the chocolate chip ice-cream from Baskin Robbins. I keep craving it each weekend and occasionally when we're out during weekdays.

I'm starting to countdown on my own now. Each day, I'll look at the calendar and count the weeks over and over again although I already know how many weeks more there is.

17 more weeks to go!!

Maternity Jeans

When I first got pregnant, I realised I was super bloated. I could still fit into all of my old clothes but only the bottoms were a little uncomfortable for me.

I didn't buy any new pants or jeans, only maternity tights and leggings as most of my clothes are dresses anyways.

However, I found this site Queen Bee which sells really nice maternity wear although a bit on the expensive side.

The first time around, I purchased a pair of white ankle length jeans from them as the blue one was out of stock in my size.

But the other day, I went back to the site and the blue jeans was in stock!

So although they're the same design/pattern, I decided to get the blue one too! :)

And today, Peter Pan Daddy has finally picked it up from the post office for me as it was an insured package!

Yay, I finally have a pair of decent jeans to wear once again! And they're real comfortable too!

Detailed Scan

Finally did it yesterday!

The scan took exactly 30 minutes. The Fetal Maternal Doctor scanned Peter Pan Baby from head to toe.

So far, Peter Pan Baby looks alright and it is confirmed once again that he's a boy.

The doctor checked for the nasal bone to see the likelihood of down syndrome and also for cleft lip. All looks good.

Peter Pan Baby has this bubble thingy inside of him which means that he's drinking water and it's being accumulated in his bladder which means his kidneys are functioning.

He has five little fingers and toes on both hands and legs. His hand was stagnant at the thumbs-up position the whole time yesterday. I wonder if that was his way of telling us everything's alright.

We even saw him open his mouth for a bit and the doctor was pointing out Peter Pan Baby's tongue to us but as we are no experts in ultrasound, I couldn't make it out -_-

Ok, those are the only things that I could remember as the other parts of the body seems a bit too complex for me to comprehend (partly due to the fact that I always failed bio in school).

But overall, Peter Pan Baby's measurements were plotted into graphs and he's growing right on track! *waves pom-poms in the air for Peter Pan Baby*

Peter Pan Baby was so cute. Lying comfortably on the placenta.

The doctor said that Peter Pan Baby's a friendly baby for scanning. He said it made his life so much easier apparently and with a friendly baby like Peter Pan Baby, it made it hard for him to stop scanning hehe.

Maybe Peter Pan Baby could sense that I was a worrier so he nicely positioned himself for the scan to put my mind at ease.

Now that that's done. I just hope that the whole pregnancy would carry on smoothly without any further complications :)
